The Details: What You Need to Know

Controls: The Trade-off for Immersion
Just like Luke’s other mods, this one provides full 6DoF VR but does not include motion controls, meaning you will still need to play through the game with a traditional controller. While this is often a sore point for die-hard VR fans, the ability to explore these flat worlds in true 6DoF is a minor trade-off for the sheer awe of standing in these stunning environments.
Combat and Visuals
- First-Person Fight: I personally struggled a bit with the first-person combat, noting that the swings of Indy’s fists and weapons felt like they pulled the camera around a lot, leading to missed blows. However, according to Luke, this issue appears to be unique to the person testing the mod.
- Digital Tourism: The mod feels like an ideal companion piece for revisiting areas after completing the game in “flat” mode, making it perfect for post-game digital tourism.
- Visual Fidelity: Don’t judge the mod by the visuals in the video! I had to keep the texture qualities low to ensure a smooth capture. With a decent GPU and without running a bunch of capture programs, you should be able to achieve visuals that are significantly sharper than what you see in the footage.

This is a monumental effort. Forget flat screenshots—the depth and realism added by VR is staggering. So when do you get to explore these ruins yourself? According to Luke, the mod is almost ready for launch! Get your PCs ready!
