(MMA Pioneer’s Training Confirmed—Is A Superfight Looming?)
Stop the presses! After over 15 years away, the original face of women’s MMA, Gina Carano, is reportedly making a serious return to training.
The rumors are swirling, but now we have confirmation from an insider. Syndicate MMA Coach John Wood is managing Carano’s comeback efforts and his comments are sending shockwaves through the fight world:
- THE QUOTE: Coach Wood confirms her commitment: “She’s got that fire lit and she’s training her butt off, man.”
- THE GRIND: Carano, 43, has been in the gym “every day” for over a month.
- THE POWER: Wood is confident she still has the raw knockout power: “Do I think she’s still got pop and can lay it on somebody? Absolutely.”
- ANNOUNCEMENT SOON? Wood suggests fans “might hear some things at some point in time here,” indicating a potential fight announcement is close.
Superfight Alert: Rousey Rematch?
Carano’s comeback efforts are coinciding with massive rumors about her former rival, Ronda Rousey, pursuing a potential boxing match. The long-awaited, biggest fight that never happened—Carano vs. Rousey—is suddenly a possibility outside the UFC.
