Elon Musk returns to Donald Trump’s team, the head of SpaceX will work in the Pentagon. Axios reports this with reference to a statement by Pete Hegseth.

The head of the Pentagon yesterday announced Musk’s return to the Trump administration and joining the US Department of War. According to Hegseth, the head of SpaceX will head the department for research into future wars, becoming one of the leaders of the «Meridian» project. Musk and his team will study possible scenarios for future conflicts, as well as what will help the United States win all future wars.
In addition to Musk, the «Meridian» project will also be led by Anduril founder Palmer Luckey and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Project objective — development and deployment weapons and the systems that will be used to fight «in the future».
We use a unique source of US advantage: our innovators, our top leaders and our technologists — great thinkers and figures who can predict creative solutions to the conflicts of tomorrow.
Elon Musk already worked in the Trump administration; he headed the US Government Efficiency Department (DOGE), created by order of the US President to reduce government spending. Then Musk quarreled with Trump and left his post at DOGE. He later reconciled with the US President and waited for a second invitation from him, this time to the Pentagon.
