Federal agents aren’t backing down from “sanctuary” roadblocks, and their latest haul from the streets of Massachusetts is proof that the hunt for dangerous fugitives is hitting a new gear.
In a massive double-tap for public safety, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed they pulled a convicted child predator and a convicted murderer off the streets on the exact same day.

The Fall River Takedown First up: Antony Araujo. ICE agents tracked him down in Fall River on December 19th. This wasn’t just a routine pickup—Araujo’s rap sheet is a nightmare fuel list of convictions, including the rape of a child and possession of child pornography.
“There are few crimes more disturbing than the rape of a child,” stated David Wesling, ERO Boston Acting Field Office Director. He made it clear that ERO Boston is prioritizing “tenacious” arrests to scrub these predators out of New England neighborhoods.
The Double-Header While the Araujo arrest was going down, agents were simultaneously closing in on Oeun Lam. Lam isn’t just a petty offender; he’s a convicted murderer with additional hits for armed robbery and armed assault.

The “Sanctuary” Struggle Despite the local political climate in Massachusetts aimed at shielding individuals from federal immigration enforcement, ICE is sending a loud message: Public safety doesn’t have a “pause” button. By rooting out violent offenders in jurisdictions that often refuse to cooperate, the Feds are signaling that the “sanctuary” label won’t act as a permanent shield for those with violent criminal pasts.
Straight Talk: ICE agents ignored the “sanctuary” noise in Massachusetts to arrest two high-level threats—one a convicted child rapist and the other a convicted murderer—on the same day. These arrests highlight a massive push by federal authorities to bypass local red tape and prioritize the removal of violent criminals from American communities.
