Pro-Tip: Mission 11 is famous for being the best “score farm” in the game. Use Long-Range Anti-Ship Missiles (LASM) or the Pulse Laser (PLSL) to tear through the core of the platforms for maximum destruction!
I. Mission 11: Fleet Destruction
The Briefing: A New Beginning
[Location: Admiral Andersen / LRSSG Headquarters]
Official Confirmation: You “Trigger” cops—we’ve received official confirmation. The company commander wants you both to officially join our squadron. This is an unprecedented move; seems like you’ve got some people looking out for you.
The Strategy: For a long time, our counter-offensive has been overpowered by the Erusean drone auto-intercept system. However, we’ve discovered the system has blind spots. We are forming the Long Range Strategic Strike Group. Cyclops and Strider squadrons will sortie deep into Erusean territory to carry out specialized long-range attacks.
The Objective: Your first operation involves striking the enemy’s main naval force, the Aegir Fleet, gathered in northern Erusea near Snider’s Top. They have a massive supply base built on platforms. If we surprise them, we can do devastating damage.
In-Flight Communications: Snider’s Top
[Background Music: “Siren’s Song”]
- AWACS Long Caster: “Strider 1 (Trigger), you’ll be leading Strider Squadron. Count will be Cyclops 2.”
- Count: “Sorry, but how’s that work? My judgment goes fuzzy when I’m too hungry.”
- Wiseman: “How can you talk about food, Skald? All aircraft, engage! Sink the fleet while they’re at anchor!”
- Strider 2 (Jaeger): “Aegis vessel sunk! That sea sure looks uninviting.”
- Long Caster: “I think we’ve sunk most of them. Look at all that smoke!”
- Count: “Stop treating me like a backup chick! I’ve shot down my fair share.”
- Lanza: “Approaching the platform. Take it out! It splashed down in the drink!”
- Wiseman: “Keep your eyes peeled, Trigger. You never know when that experimental squadron (Sol) will show up.”
- Jaeger: “Yeah, he knows that better than anyone. He’s lived it.”
The Mid-Air Resupply (Return Line)
- Control Tower: “Is Jaeger teaching our hatchling how to fly? Knock that off. Trigger, you’re cleared for resupply.”
- Jaeger: “I’ve got a story for you… about a great war hero. The truth is, the fear an animal feels when being hunted by a predator… that’s a real dogfight.”
II. Mission Debriefing
The mission was a success. You did more to hobble the enemy’s sea power than we first expected. Outstanding work. This should free up our allies who have been bogged down on the East Coast. In addition, this success allows us to finally initiate the operation to shoot down the Arsenal Bird. We have a long road ahead of us. Get some rest while you can.
