Woman suffers in jail for 2 weeks after Flock camera falsely identified her car

() — A Florida woman recounted her horrific experience being arrested and jailed for 13 days – including three days in solitary confinement in a cell smeared with feces on the walls and bed – for a crime she did not commit after Flock Safety cameras incorrectly identified her car.

Lindsey Isaacs testified at a Capitol Hill hearing where she said troopers appeared at her door and told her that her car had killed three people. She was shocked.

“I was placed in solitary confinement for approximately 3 1/2 days,” Isaacs said during the congressional hearing.

“Correctional officers told me I had to stay there because of the severity of my charges, and I could not be housed with other inmates until I had been evaluated,” she explained. “I was placed in a blue suicide prevention dress with a broken Velcro that left me exposed.”

“The cell door was shut and it was not open for approximately 86 hours,” she said through tears, momentarily unable to speak. “I was moved to a mental health unit for approximately 24 hours before ultimately being transferred to a maximum security housing unit where I remained for approximately 10 days.”

“I was terrified. I was facing the possibility of spending the rest of my life in prison for a crash I knew that I had not been involved in. I did not know if I would ever get out of jail.”

“At my lowest point, I didn’t want to be alive,” Isaacs added.

The proliferation of Flock cameras and other electronic surveillance measures being put into use by law enforcement continue to raise red flags about both their misuse and American’s constitutional right to privacy.

Critics fear that the license plate cameras are recording audio, video, and even driver’s phone’s Bluetooth. There are 120,000 of them across the U.S. Even the mainstream media is reporting on their abuse, including law enforcement officers using them to stalk ex-partners.
