American actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto has become the subject of a new BBC documentary, in which four women accuse him of sexual misconduct, the British broadcaster reported Wednesday.

The allegations, featured in ‘Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret’, reportedly relate to the period between 2002 and 2016. According to the documentary, all four women were underage at the time of their alleged encounters with the actor and musician.

One woman alleged she was “sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom” when she was 17. Another one claimed she was subjected to threats of “sexual assault” from Leto at the age of 19, when she was unexpectedly left alone with him in a hotel room.

A third woman said she had a sexual relationship with the Hollywood star in California when she was 17, which is classified there as statutory rape. According to the documentary, Leto “shrugged off” a conversation about the age of consent being 18 in the US state.

A fourth woman alleged that Leto made “repeated sexually explicit phone calls” to her when she was 16, and suggested they should have sex on at least one occasion. She said she was later sent a non-disclosure agreement but refused to sign it.

Four other women also told the BBC they had received “strange and often very sexual phone calls from Leto when they were younger.”

The BBC said it interviewed ten women in total, nine of whom spoke publicly for the first time. They alleged they encountered Leto when he was in his 30s and early 40s. The broadcaster reported that it corroborated parts of several accounts through relatives and friends, as well as photographs and messages that supported some of the claims.

The documentary follows earlier allegations published by Air Mail in June 2025, when nine women accused Leto of sexual misconduct they said occurred while they were underage between 2006 and 2009. The accounts included claims of late-night phone calls, explicit behavior and inappropriate advances.

At the time, Leto’s representative denied that the actor had engaged in sexual misconduct or inappropriate relationships with women.
