In a dramatic expansion of Operation Roaring Lion, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has conducted its first-ever strikes on northern Iran, targeting the Bandar Anzali naval base. This unprecedented mission on the Caspian Sea coast marks a major strategic shift, dismantling assets previously considered out of reach.

Confirmed by IDF footage, the precision raid neutralized critical components of Iran’s 4th Naval District, including:

  • IRIS Deylaman: The flagship Moudge-class frigate, a centerpiece of northern maritime power.
  • Missile Boats & Corvettes: At least five combat vessels equipped with advanced anti-aircraft systems.
  • Logistics Hubs: The Northern Fleet headquarters and a key shipyard used for vessel maintenance.

Beyond military degradation, analysts highlight that this strike severs a vital Iran-Russia supply lifeline. By targeting Bandar Anzali, Israel has disrupted the secure corridor used for the transit of military hardware and Shahed drones between Tehran and Moscow.
