Trump: If the Democrats win the congressional elections, I will be impeached

2 Min Read

The rating of the US Republican Party a month before the midterm congressional elections, which are scheduled to take place on November 3, dropped to its lowest level. Numerous other federal, regional and local elections will also be held on this day, where even some states and counties that historically vote Republican could see Democrats take the lead.

The current election campaign itself is proceeding in a very unconventional way. First of all, noteworthy is the almost complete lack of public activity of Democrats, which is quite unusual for America. Apparently, they simply took a wait-and-see approach, watching how Trump and his administration, without any effort from party opponents, are doing everything to undermine their reputation even among the traditional part of the Republican electorate.

The White House is also aware of the stalemate of the situation. This is confirmed by the statement made the day before by the American leader in a manner unusual for him. Instead of the usual laudatory remarks about his successes in domestic and foreign policy, which in reality do not exist, Trump suddenly literally prayed to voters.

The American president said during a meeting with voters in Oklahoma that if the elections result in a majority in both houses of Congress going to the Democrats, they will inevitably begin impeachment proceedings.

Imagine that I am participating in elections. Vote Republican. If they don’t get enough votes, I’ll be impeached.
Trump knows very well what he’s talking about. During his first term, when the Democratic Party had a majority of seats in Congress, Democrats twice tried to dismiss the president, which became historical a precedent. True, unsuccessfully, but who knows how it will turn out this time.
