Maingear Launches Instant Trade-In Program for Gaming PC Buyers
American custom and prebuilt computer manufacturer Maingear has officially launched a new instant trade-in program in partnership with refurbishment and recycling platform SELLIT9. The initiative aims to help gamers offset rising component and memory costs by turning old, unused technology into instant credit toward a brand-new Maingear desktop or laptop.
Through this new collaboration, customers can quickly exchange a wide variety of used tech for Maingear gift cards. Eligible items range from older laptops, smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches to headphones, cameras, camera lenses, and microphones. The trade-in service is live now, and Maingear is sweetening the deal by offering an extra 5% value on all traded-in products using the promo code EXTRA5 through October 14.
How the Instant Trade-In Process Works
Addressing the common pain points of selling used electronics online—such as lowball offers, sketchy meetups in parking lots, and waiting weeks for inspection—Maingear promises a frictionless experience. According to the company, quotes are generated in minutes, and gift cards are issued swiftly without the typical delays associated with mailing items in for evaluation. However, note that a temporary hold may be placed on your payment card until the traded-in hardware is fully inspected and verified.
Maingear’s partner, SELLIT9, boasts a strong 4.6/5 Trustpilot rating and recently secured $4.1 million in funding to expand its footprint across North America, with this partnership marking a major push into the U.S. market.
Estimated Trade-In Values for Popular Hardware
Based on current platform conversions, users can expect substantial payouts for various pieces of older PC hardware, tech gear, and consoles:
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D: Up to $141
- Intel Core i7-14700K: Up to $120
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super: Up to $530
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti: Up to $71
- 32GB Desktop DDR4 RAM: Up to $42
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro (128GB): Up to $278
- Sony PS5 Slim (Digital Edition): Up to $160
If you have old gear collecting dust in your drawers, now is an ideal time to check out the program and put those idle electronics toward your next high-performance gaming rig.
