I spotted a new Husky laser distance measuring tool on Home Depot’s site when shopping for something else.
At the time of this posting, it’s priced at under $35, which is about average for consumer-grade laser distance measurers.

Home Depot’s new Husky laser distance measuring tool features a 60-foot range, backlit display, and rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Its accuracy is said to be ±1/8″.
From what I can tell, this is a single-button tool, where you use the same button to turn it on, lock in a measure, and change the units. Users can opt between feet, inches, and meters.
The device recharges via USB-C.
Price: $34.17
Discussion
I have nothing kind or helpful to say about the design, so let’s look at some other options.

I recently took notice of this Hoto laser distance measuring tool, which is only a few dollars more at $40.

The Hoto has longer measurement range (98ft), better accuracy (±1/16″), an aesthetic design, and Bluetooth connectivity.
With the Hoto, you can measure from the front or rear of the tool, although this change needs to be made via the optional app. Basic laser distance measuring tools typically don’t give you this option.

Or you can wait until the Bosch GLM100-23 gets discounted for the holiday season. This has been my favorite basic laser distance measuring tool, and before that I favored its predecessors.
Besides the compact size, simple interface, great quality, and stellar reputation, I like that it uses 2xAAA batteries instead of having USB-rechargeable Li-ion.
