Boston-based clinical-stage biotechnology company Bambusa Therapeutics has launched its proposed $150 million initial public offering. According to its S-1/A filing, the company is offering 9.38 million shares at an estimated price range of $15.00 to $17.00 per share, targeting a valuation of roughly $796.19 million at the $16.00 mid-point. BofA Securities, Evercore ISI, UBS Investment Bank, and Cantor are serving as joint book-runners for the deal, which is expected to price later this week.
Bambusa specializes in developing next-generation, long-acting precision bispecific therapies aimed at treating autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Its lead product candidate, BBT001, targets core Type 2 inflammation and chronic itch associated with atopic dermatitis, with a Phase 2b trial planned by the end of 2026. The company’s second candidate, BBT002, is currently being evaluated globally for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, alongside early-stage preclinical programs for inflammatory bowel diseases and autoantibody-driven conditions.
Like many clinical-stage biotechs entering the public markets, Bambusa Therapeutics is currently unprofitable and has not yet generated any commercial product revenue. Proceeds from the offering will help fund the advancement of its expanding clinical pipeline.
