Student Abuse Scandal Rocks Jewish Academy – Teacher Elias Farley Now Out on Bail

2 Min Read

This is every parent’s nightmare.
A 26-year-old former science teacher at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton now faces felony charges after allegedly grooming and having repeated sexual contact with a teenage student – assaults that happened both on campus and at his apartment.

I’ve reported on too many school abuse cases over the years, and the details here are gut-wrenching. Elias Gordon Farley was arrested December 3, 2025, by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The charges: unlawful sexual activity with a minor and sexual battery by an authority figure. According to investigators, he started with secret messages in a shared Google Doc – the kind of thing teachers use for assignments – then escalated to physical assaults beginning late 2025. The student finally came forward November 18. School administrators acted fast: Farley was terminated immediately, and the academy is fully cooperating with law enforcement.

How did it get this far?

The no-contact order is in place, he’s out on bail, but the damage is done. A position of trust turned into a predator’s playground. These cases always follow a pattern: build rapport, isolate, exploit. The Google Doc detail chills me – it’s so everyday, so sneaky. Parents trust schools to catch red flags; when they don’t, the fallout is catastrophic.

Bottom line: Farley faces serious prison time if convicted. The victim – still a teenager – carries scars that don’t fade with headlines. No excuses, no what-ifs. Justice needs to be swift and final.
