Job description: About the role

  • The Maintenance Recruiter supports the full recruitment cycle including, but not limited to, sourcing, recruitment strategy, networking, and candidate experience for all facilities positions in the Balfour Beatty Communities military portfolios.

What you’ll be doing

  • Proactively source through resume mining, database searching, job fairs, media advertisement, employee referrals, and networking with prospects
  • Using standardized screening techniques, assess the skills, qualifications, and experience of internal and external candidates.
  • Conduct preliminary interviews with recruits to gauge interest, skillset, and salary requirements
  • Partnering with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition manager to understand needs of the organization and develop recruiting strategies that meet anticipated staffing needs
  • Provide feedback regarding applicants to hiring teams
  • With supports from Talent Acquisition Manager on assessing which roles to partner with 3rd party vendors.
  • Works with Talent Acquisition Manager to identify appropriate posting sites/venues for open position. Helps supports the job fair process with HR and management team. Attend as needed.
  • Manage the candidate experience including but not limited to scheduling of phone/in person interviews, ensure timely follow up, travel arrangements (if necessary), initial offer to candidate (manages offer process between candidate and hiring manager).
  • Ensures ATS is up to date and accurate as far as position and candidate dispositions.
  • Complete candidate experience by dispositioning applicants who were not offered the role at appropriate time or show hiring managers how to perform task
  • Network with prospects through industry, associations, social media, and community outreach
  • Partner with local technical schools to present, collaborate, and connect with students
  • Conduct initial calibration call with hiring managers
  • Attend weekly recruiting update calls and support the Talent Acquisition Business partners with running the call.
  • Communicate frequently and provides weekly status of open jobs and candidate summaries. Schedule successful candidates interviews with hiring team.
  • Assist Hiring Manager and work with TA Coordinator/Specials on offer process as needed.
  • Work with external recruitment vendors such as job boards, newspapers, pre-employment company, RMS company, job fairs, etc. and handle invoices associated with vendors
  • Work with Talent Acquisition Manager and Hiring team to identify temporary hiring
  • With Support from the Talent Acquisition Manager, work with temporary staffing agency on contract negotiations and support hiring manager with the process.
  • Track all temporary employees for the purposes of head count reporting

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly uses hands to manipulate phones, computer keyboard and similar tools. Ability to view computer screens, mobile devices, and other electronic equipment, for extended periods of time. Sit and stand to perform administrative work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs. Work is performed in an office environment. Employee must travel throughout the company footprint as required.

Who we’re looking for

  • High School diploma, associate degree, or technical certificate is a plus
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in maintenance type role
  • Experience in recruiting, screening, and/or interviewing a strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the industry.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high sense of urgency environment
  • High energy level, strong sense of urgency, resourceful, resilient, and well organized
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to partner, influence and work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Strong attention to detail. Solid computer skills
  • Ability to travel 25-50%
